We’re taking a break from Richard Garraputa’s blog series “Movin’ Up: License plating made easy” to discuss some of the highlights in Oracle’s latest JD Edwards enhancement release. Installment 3 of that series will continue next Thursday.
Upgrades and enhancements to JD Edwards EnterpriseOne can be overwhelming. So much so that dedicated users can respond to new feature announcements with a vague sense of dread rather than intrigue and relief. Corning Data is uniquely experienced to help your business deconstruct updates so you can use new features to enhance your user experience and processes.
Last week, Oracle announced “significant product updates to empower our customers on their journey to becoming digital enterprises. These enhancements provide companies transformative solutions to innovate in the digital economy and to run their business their way.”
Dave Lindeman, Corning Data’s Director of PreSales Solutions, breaks down Oracle’s latest release into four main enhancement areas:
User Experience Enhancements
No two companies retain and access their data the same way via their enterprise system. With the enhanced tailoring features included in the latest release of JD Edwards EnterpriseOne, users can easily define role-based content related to their area(s) of responsibility. The new UX One role-based content not only provides role-specific landing pages, but also includes key analytical features such as watch lists, graphical operational metrics, springboards and user-defined list view formats. Along with previous JD Edwards EnterpriseOne UI enhancements, these new user experience enhancements further empower end users to tailor the system to their individual needs.
Mobile Features Enhancements
With increasing demand for mobility in the workforce, Oracle continues to enhance JD Edwards EnterpriseOne with additional mobile features. These enhancements expand the already extensive mobile capabilities of the product by adding features such as mobile watch lists, extended barcoding capabilities and improved technical features such as single sign-on with Oracle MCS and performance improvements via Oracle Mobile Application Framework (MAF) 2.3.3.
Industry Driven ERP Enhancements
Oracle continues to listen to the extensive JD Edwards user population to incorporate industry- related application enhancement requests. These enhancements are often born from feedback received through JD Edwards user groups around the world. Some of the most recent enhancements are in the areas of:
- Sales Management
- Grower Management
- Job Costing/Project Management
- Health and Safety Management
- Real Estate Management
- Human Capital Management
